NCLL White Sox Baseball Games

Tuesday, May 13, 2008

My husband is the photographer of my step-son's baseball team @ Niles Centerville Little League. Jordan (my step-son) got 2 in-the-park homeruns and made 4 catches for 4 outs. He played so well in this game and got the playball.

Gestational Diabetes

Monday, May 12, 2008

When I was around 6 mos pregnant i developed a gestationa diabetes, thats why my obgyn reccomended me to check with dietrician and gave me some meal plan.

What is Gestational Diabetes?
Gestational diabetes is a type of diabetes that occurs
only in pregnancy and usually disappears after the
birth of the baby. It is present in less than 15% of all
pregnancies and is usually detected at 24-28 weeks
of pregnancy.
Who Is Likely To Have It?
Your chances of developing gestational diabetes
increase if you:
• Have a family history of diabetes
• Had a previous birth of a very large baby or a stillbirth
• Are overweight
• Had an earlier pregnancy with gestational diabetes
• Have too much amniotic fluid (polyhydramnios)
• Are older than 25 years

What is the cause?
Gestational diabetes prevents your body from using carbohydrate properly.
Carbohydrate is a nutrient found in foods that is turned into sugar (glucose)
by the body. Foods that contain carbohydrate include sweet foods such as
table sugar, honey, jams, sweets, soft drinks, and starchy foods such as bread,
cereal, pasta, potatoes, fruit and milk. The inability to use carbohydrate
properly results in blood sugars that are not within normal levels.
When you eat food, your body breaks down carbohydrates into sugar
during digestion and the sugar enters your blood stream. Your body needs
sugar to provide energy just like your car needs gasoline to run. Energy is
needed by your brain for thinking and by your muscles for activity. The
pancreas, located behind your stomach, senses how much sugar is present in
the blood and delivers the right amount of a hormone called insulin. Insulin
lowers blood sugar by allowing sugar to enter your body’s cells.
Pregnant women are usually screened for gestational diabetes between 24-28
weeks. Women with a strong family history of diabetes or with gestational
diabetes in an earlier pregnancy may be tested at 16-20 weeks. Just because
you did not have the condition in your first pregnancy does not mean you will
not develop it in later pregnancies.

You can control your blood sugar by:
checking your blood sugar
foillowing a meal plan
Appropriate exercise after meal

My 8 months 8 days old baby

Saturday, May 10, 2008

Ethan was born on Sept 1 2007, he is 5 days overdue. He weighs 8lbs 4.8 ounces when he was born and 53 cm long. He started to sit well without support when he was around 6 months and started crawling when he was 6 months 28 days, after 2 weeks he could stand up by himself holding on to something like chairs , couches etc. Ethan is a handfull at first I was so worried that he might hurt himself but then he learned how to fall safely on his butt. Whew! my baby is growing. He became more assertive and knows how to express his likes and dislikes. When somebody pull away things from him he objects so loudly and he looks so cute. My baby is always been a mommys boy.. At night when I put him to bed he put his arms on my neck and when he wakes up at night he checks if i'm there and move closer to me then he will return to sleep. Such act of of extreme attachment makes me feel so loved, needed, happy, blessed and content. We got him a playskool step start walk n ride from target and he loves it. I knew soon he'll be walking around. Thank you Lord for such a perfect gift.

19th Week

Friday, May 9, 2008

I am now 19 weeks pregnant, I've got heartburn from time to time, discomfort at night, always tired and sleepy, so far I'm sure I'm okey and having a healthy pregnancy. According to babycenter week by week fetal development website, my baby now measures around 6 inches/ 15 cm long from crown to rump and weighs about 9 ounces/ 240 grams. My baby started to swallow amniotic fluid, and her kidneys continue to make urine. Hair on the scalp is sprouting.Sensory development reaches its peak this week. The nerve cells serving each of the senses -- taste, smell, hearing, seeing, and touch -- are now developing in their specialised areas of the brain. Nerve cell production slows down as existing nerve cells grow larger and make more complex connections.
Well I halfway there!!! I am excited I had 8 months 8days old baby boy, so I'm praying to have a girl this time. But boy or girl I'll be a happy and blessed mommy.
I'll have my 5th prenatal visit on the 14th, they'll do some blood work and check up, then on the 20th I'll have my ultra sound So excited to know the gender of my baby. Hope it will be a girl.

The 1st time we met!!!

Thursday, May 8, 2008

How our love started? A lot of couples found their half through internet and we're one of them. I met Terry when I was 26 yrs old, March 2005. We've been good friends since then. I noticed for the first time we talked that Terry is a good, loving, proud father of his twins the way he talks about his son. Which I found it very attractive, since then we talked and share a lot of things like family, friends, hobbies, food etc. Knowing him more I knew we're falling in lovefor each other, but we decided that we have to see each other in person before deciding to go next level. So he decided to go to hong kong to see me last october 27, 2005. Seeing him for the first time!!! we knew we liked each other, so then a good ,trusting, wonderful relationship started. I am so glad and thankfull we found each other. Indeed, time and distant wont stop a true love, it always find her way to find true love no matter how hard it is.

The Most Beautiful Heart

Friday, May 2, 2008

I am surfing the internet and I came across with this story. This talks about true beauty. I encourage you to read the story and think how your heart looks like.

One day a young man was standing in the middle of the town
proclaiming that he had the most beautiful heart in the whole valley.
A large crowd gathered and they all admired his heart for it was perfect.
There was not a mark or a flaw in it.
Yes, they all agreed it truly was the most beautiful heart they had ever seen.
The young man was very proud and boasted more loudly about his beautiful heart.
Suddenly, an old man appeared at the front of the crowd and said,
“Why your heart is not nearly as beautiful as mine”.
The crowd and the young man looked at the old man's heart.
It was beating strongly, but full of scars,
it had places where pieces had been removed and other pieces put in,
but they didn't fit quite right and there were several jagged edges.
In fact, in some places there were deep gouges where whole pieces were missing.
The people stared -- how can he say his heart is more beautiful, they thought?
The young man looked at the old man's heart and saw its state and laughed.
“You must be joking” , he said. “Compare your heart with mine,
mine is perfect and yours is a mess of scars and tears.
“Yes”, said the old man, “Yours is perfect looking but I would never trade with you.
You see, every scar represents a person to whom I have given my love -
I tear out a piece of my heart and give it to them,
and often they give me a piece of their heart which fits into the empty place in my heart,
but because the pieces aren't exact,
I have some rough edges, which I cherish, because they remind me of the love we shared.
Sometimes I have given pieces of my heart away,
and the other person hasn't returned a piece of his heart to me.
These are the empty gouges -- giving love is taking a chance.
Although these gouges are painful, they stay open,
reminding me of the love I have for these people too,
and I hope someday they may return and fill the space I have waiting.
So now do you see what true beauty is?
The young man stood silently with tears running down his cheeks.
He walked up to the old man, reached into his perfect young and beautiful heart,
and ripped a piece out.
He offered it to the old man with trembling hands.
The old man took his offering, placed it in his heart
and then took a piece from his old scarred heart
and placed it in the wound in the young man's heart.
It fit, but not perfectly, as there were some jagged edges.
The young man looked at his heart, not perfect anymore but more beautiful than ever,
since love from the old man's heart flowed into his.
They embraced and walked away side by side.
